Dr. Debra Wynia
Throughout her 20+ year dental career, Dr. Wynia has enjoyed establishing relationships with her patients and earning their trust. She says that it’s truly rewarding to connect with and treat an entire family from little kids and parents to even grandparents. She’s also grateful to have a wonderful team that fills the office with laughter while delivering stellar care. Her goal is to not only provide dentistry that looks and feels great but do so in a way that changes people’s attitudes about the profession, enabling them to relax while getting the personalized attention they deserve.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
When Dr. Wynia was in junior high, she got braces. She noticed that her orthodontist seemed to love his job, and she really enjoyed science in high school, so she ended up shadowing her soccer coach who was in dental school at the time. As it turned out, she really liked teeth and was interested in the creative, artistic, and scientific sides of dentistry.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Wynia earned a BA in biology from Drake University, and she started her dental career as an assistant after getting her license from Century College. She eventually obtained her DDS from Creighton University, and today, she has certifications in Invisalign, Six Month Smiles, and laser dentistry.

As a mom, she loves watching her kids do their various activities, and she also likes walking her dog and hiking in nature. She’s drawn to all things lake-related such as swimming, boating, paddleboarding, and riding around in the pontoon. When she can, she dabbles in photography and even clog dancing!
